Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin has been an actor in Canada and New Zealand for over a decade. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 and was the 2nd youngest recipient in Oscar history. When she was a teenager her family relocated from New Zealand to United States. Paquin was chosen to play the role of the child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. In addition, she played an important part as a lead character in Fly Away Home, a film that was released in the same year. Paquin played Frankie Addams as a child in the 1996 television film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 film Amistad. The actress played teenagers as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
